E²TQuasar 2 Flare Stack Flame and Pilot Monitor
Active
Continuous Duty Flare Stack Flame and Pilot Monitoring Instrument
The Quasar 2 infrared instruments provides continuous monitoring and detection of pilot flame and flare gases from flares for refineries, gas plants, and other petrochemical applications independet of gas composition, up to a disctance of 400 m. The instruments can be used with elevated flares, ground flares, as well as off-shore and staged flares.
Models are available with such features as automatic compensation for signal variation due to target movement, varying luminosiity, and weather conditions, such as rain, snow, and fog, vernier sighting capabilities for easy target acquisition at long sighting distances, and heavy-duty mounting systems designed to resist movement in high winds. The integrated alarm delay circuit can be adjusted for a specific location or application, eleminating false alarm from tempoary loss of signal due to intermittent flames, adverse weather and wind.

Flare Stack Monitoring with Quasar 2 and FlareSpection
Sep 4, 2019
Continuous monitoring of pilot flames and flared gases is essential for flaring systems. When thermocouples aren't enough, learn how the Quasar 2 and the FlareSpection systems can provide reliable non-contact infrared detection for flare stack monitoring.
Quasar 2 is a pyrometry-based system for detecting pilot flames and individual heat signatures.
FlareSpection is a thermal imaging-based system for detecting differences in multiple heat signatures and distinguishing between the flare and pilot flames.
